Modular Facilities

We know that minimising time to market for new products is essential to your business. That is why we offer modular facilities – to give you flexible solutions.

Modular facilities involve a construction method using pre-engineered, pre-fabricated structures that are reassembled on your site. Up to 100 percent of your building and equipment are completed, test runs are performed, and the facility is pre-qualified at the factory before shipping.

Our modular facilities approach enables you to:

  • Meet urgent demands in the shortest possible time
  • Easily expand existing facilities
  • Build on difficult sites or relocate
  • Budget with a higher degree of certainty

case /  Inno Biologics Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia

In 2005, Inno Biologics set out to build Malaysia’s first GMP-compliant biotech facility. The facility should help kick-start the Malaysian biotech industry, making it a major source of growth for the economy

Why are modular facilities faster than conventional alternatives?
Because many activities are performed simultaneously. The fabrication of the facility starts at the same time as the application for regulatory and environmental permits. With the parallel project execution, our modular facilities work well with our modular engineering approach.

How do modular facilities make expanding existing facilities easy?
The huge variety of pre-fabricated plant designs opens up new horizons and opportunities. For example, if you are facing space problems at your existing production facility, you can install modules on the roof of your existing building. Also, modules decrease your need for production shutdowns, and tie-ins run more smoothly.

Why are they good for difficult building sites and relocation?
Large, compact and self-supporting room modules include all service installations and all process technology in a way that enables them to be easily rigged on the construction site. The modules only need to be connected together on site and connected to your media systems.

Why do modular facilities support budgets with a higher degree of certainty?
The centralisation of engineering, procurement and construction in the same location provide better project coordination with fewer failures and reworks – independent of local infrastructure and environmental risks. Using the same experienced personnel and safe site conditions in a well-organised factory also add an advantage.
